Wuxi is the 41th largest city of China. and the 147th largest city of the World. Wuxi is an old city in southern Jiangsu province. Wuxi has a long history, with humans living in the area as early as 4,000 years ago. It fell within the territory of the Guzhu Kingdom (1600 BC) at the time of the Shang Dynasty and later became a part of the State of Yan, one of the seven Warring States (403 - 221 BC). Wuxi is located is on an alluvial plain of deep sedimentary deposits cut between limestone foothills, making it one of the sources for "scholar's rocks". |
