About

Phone Book of the World

Phone Book of the World came alive in 2000, starting with a couple of dollars as a 3-page website out of an internet café in Paris. Still 100% self-financed, the site has grown steadily ever since. We follow the logic of the inventors of the international phone system, who organised the world into 8 / 9 telecom zones.

You can also access any of the 244 country phone books directly — the web address always follows the same logic, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. The largest cities have their own phone books too:

🌙 And, as a little clin d'œil and a hello to the future, there's even a Phonebook of the Moon (+89).

Our audience is 100% international, with most users on the US Pacific and Atlantic coasts, around Mexico City, and in Germany, Israel and France. Most people use us to find residential phone numbers, businesses, hotels — in particular luxury hotels — and general tourist information. We try to simplify and organise access to the many phone number and Yellow Pages databases around the world.
