Naples is the 3rd largest city of Italy, the 25th largest city of Europe and the xxth largest city of the World. It is the capital of the region xx and of the County xx. The city is close to the Volcano "Vesuvius" and surrounded by the Volcanic Arc of Campania. Naples is divided into x districts. The city was founded by the Greeks between 700 BC and 600 BC (before year 0 birth of Jesus) and called Napolis. The city was first dominated by the Romans and later by many different groups (Byzantines, Lombards, Normans, Swabians, Angevins, Aragonese, Spaniards, Bourbons and revolutionary French) Traces of all thoses Occupants can still be found in the city today. Naples was also the capital of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. |
