Nanning is the 40th largest city of China, and the 151th largest city of the World. Nanning is the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. It is known as the "green city" because of its abundance of lush tropical foliage. Nanning was once the territory of the Baiyue people and became the capital of Jinxing Prefecture which was separated from Yulin Prefecture of the Eastern Jin dynasty. Nanning is located in the southern part of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 160 km from the border with Vietnam. |
