Unitil 1818 the village was called Hyatt´s Mills.
1918 it was renamed after the Governor General Lord "Sherbrooke".
2002 Jan 1 Sherbrooke became much larger
by mergering with neighbouring towns,
Ascot, Bromptonville, Deauville, Fleurimont, Lennoxville,
Rock Forest, and Saint-Elie-d'Orford.
